Euro 2012: England manager Fabio Capello looking to get into the groove for another marathon European tour

By the passing year, England resemble more and more a rock band who were big in the Sixties, have enjoyed a couple of near smash hits since and are still on the road, desperately seeking to recapture the glory days.

The stadiums still sell out and the merchandising still shifts, while eagerly awaited dates are being finalised for the “Talking About My Golden Generation” European tour.
Some of the famous old band members have retired, replaced by stars in the making, young performers who are technically good but have yet to prove whether they can survive the physical and psychological rigours of a gruelling summer schedule.
England’s May and June itinerary certainly reads like a rock group’s mammoth tour: London, Marbella, London, Dublin, Krakow, Donetsk, Krakow, Kiev, Krakow, Donetsk, Krakow. If “Three Lions On A Tour” is well-received, extra shows could be added in Donetsk, Kiev or Warsaw, with a possible grand finale in Kiev in July. From Andalusia to the Carpathians, England are all over Europe.
